Free Security JavaScripts

These free security javascripts will help to make your pages a little more secure.

They will allow you to prevent visitors right-clicking their mouse and saving the text or images on your web page, to their computer. You can also scramble the code on your page to stop it being copied and used by other webmasters.

Note: The level of security provided by these javascripts is not very high, but it will stop most people copying your pages.

Disable right mouse click script II (on images)

This alternate version of the original no right click script targets only images, so right clicking is disabled only when attempting to save an image on the page. Great if you wish your visitors to be able to access the default right menu in general cases.
Important! Due to inherent limitations, in NS4, this script does not disable right clicking on images that are hyperlinked.

Disable Image Toolbar

"Image Toolbar" is a IE6+ specific feature designed to facilitate the handling of images on your site. As a user moves his mouse over an image on your page in IE6, a rectangular toolbar pops up, allowing for the instant saving, printing, and emailing of it. As the publisher, you may wish to disable this feature, so your site's images are not so readily exposed to manipulation.

Source Code Encrypter

Scramble the source of any chunk of code, or the entire webpage, using this creative script. The encrypted code will still be interpreted properly by the browser, just difficult for us humans to read. It is recommended that you use this script to encrypt only the part(s) of your webpage that require encryption (ie: a script), rather than the entire page. This helps minimize the chance of any problems.

Easy Email Scrambler

This script encrypts any email link on your webpage to hide them from harvesters and spammers. The script shines in its ease of implementation and extensive browser compatibility. To encrypt an email address, simply modify your existing "mailto:" link on the page with a specifically crafted email address instead, and the script does the hard work by dynamically modifying it to become valid for humans. Compatibility wise, the script works in all JavaScript enabled browsers, and even for those with JavaScript disabled, the resulting email link still works to a degree that allows the visitor to email you. Now that's one usable Email Scrambling script!
