Use this script to not only preload any number of images before displaying them, but also, get a live update on it's progress through an update bar. Once the preloadiing is complete, the surfer is then directed to the page containing the preloaded images.

Dacio's slideshow

Dacio´s slideshow is simple javascript that changes the images in a predefined time. In configuration, set the number of all pictures in the slideshow, set time that a picture is shown for. The main config is "List of links to pictures", where you paste a shortcut to the pictures. See the script for details.
